Laparoscopic surgery

Laparoscopy is a surgical technique that allows you to operate inside the stomach by making only small incisions. This technique is the preferred route of first surgery inside the abdomen.

Under general anesthesia, the stomach is inflated with carbon dioxide. Then from small incisions on the skin, we pass, through the wall tubes: these are the trocars. Through these tubes, we can pass any kind of instruments:

  • a camera that allows you to see what is inside on a screen belly
  • scissors, pliers, needle holders, retractors, a scalpel ...

The surgeon operates by looking at a screen. He manipulates instruments long inside the abdomen.

Laparoscopic surgery for varicocele

Varicocele is treated surgically for pain or infertility (altered spermogram).

The treatment consists in stopping the blood reflux in the vein spermatic.

Laparoscopic varicocele surgery is a mini technique invasive.

It is done under general anesthesia and allows to clamp or coagulate the spermatic vein through three incisions: umbilical (1.5cm), at the right side (1.5cm) and at the left side (0.5cm).

The patient comes home the same day.
